即將上任美國總統的川普用人向來內舉不避親，其家庭成員的動向也倍受外界關注。川普長女、深受倚重的伊凡卡傳可能代替川普妻子梅蘭妮亞，承擔起第一夫人的部分職責，伊凡卡的夫婿賈瑞德．庫許納也可能進入白宮擔任要職。
據美國有線電視新聞網（CNN）報導，熟悉川普政權交接計畫的消息人士指出，川普的交接團隊計畫將位於白宮東廂的第一夫人辦公室轉型為「第一家庭辦公室」。雖然梅蘭妮亞仍將從旁協助川普，但川普大女兒伊凡卡也將分擔白宮女主人的部分工作，在產假和氣候變遷等議題上為川普提供意見。川普發言人希克斯則向CNN表示，「伊凡卡的職位尚未決定」。
伊凡卡的丈夫、《紐約觀察家報》所有人庫許納在選戰期間擔任川普的重要顧問，深受信賴。消息人士透露，未來庫許納也將在白宮西廂（總統橢圓辦公室、內閣室、幕僚辦公室所在區域）擔任要職，此事幾乎已成定局。
川普坐鎮白宮期間，他的長子川普二世和次子艾瑞克將負責掌管川普旗下企業。伊凡卡和庫許納兩夫妻已開始在華府西北角、人文氣息濃厚的社區喬治城（Georgetown）物色房子，準備舉家搬至華府。
不過川普「內舉不避親」，可能違反1967年制定的《反裙帶關係法令》(Federal Anti-Nepotism Statute)。該禁令有但書即被任命者「無權受領薪資」，因此只要伊凡卡和庫許納不支薪，仍可擔任政府官員。川普明知有利益衝突之嫌，仍堅持倚重「自己人」，顯然有信不過外人的問題。
