兩周前，NBA芝加哥公牛戰績為東區第三，兩周後，公牛因8戰6敗，以戰績13勝13敗的五成勝率，一度跌到東區第九，連球迷也不耐煩。公牛昨天在主場以69：95輸給公鹿，芝加哥聯合中心球場一向死忠的公牛球迷噓聲四起。
公牛後衛巴特勒（Jim Butler）說，「主場球迷給你噓聲，這是一種嚴重警告，我們的表現激怒了球迷，我們在自己家裡被人狠狠揍了一頓，球迷很難接受。」
巴特勒不認為需要召開球員內部會議，眼前的困境是缺少溝通，只要大家在場上能充分溝通和協防，打好防守，公牛就可以解決眼前危機。
「我們有能力贏球，也知道如何去贏球，現在的問題是我們場上溝通太少，全隊缺少專注力和努力，只要我們增加場上溝通和協助，我們就可以解決場上面臨的問題。」巴特勒相信公牛的實力和現況，他並不擔心、也不認為公牛需要緊迫到召開球員內部會議。
目前東區競爭和排名非常激烈，只差兩場勝差，東區排名就會上下震盪，從第3到第10名只有1.5場勝差。
>不過公牛需要擔心和解決的，似乎並不只是隊友溝通問題，公牛目前場均三分球出手19.6次，三分命中率3成03都是聯盟最後一名，也是全聯盟唯一三分出手低於22次的球隊。全聯盟第二名是不太會投三分球的邁阿密熱火，三分球命中率為3成27，比公牛還高出一些。
